Rory Goes Out To Wilson

Rory and JPCurrently at No 8 in the Official World Golf Rankings Rory took his place in the 64 man field for the WGC - Accenture Match Play Championship at Dove Mountain in Arizona.

 

In the first round, after being four down after six against Kevin Na, Rory birdied seven, eight and ten to get to just one down.  He then made bogey to Na's par at the eleventh to go back to two down. The score stayed that way until Rory birdied fifteen, sixteen and finally the eighteenth to take the match 1 up.

 

In round two Rory came up against Oliver Wilson and the pair were all square after 18 holes - they halved the first hole in pars - both narrowly missing birdie putts. On the 20th hole, the par five 2nd, Rory's pitch to the green came up just short whilst Oliver's third shot was nearly holed and was given for a birdie four, Rory missed his putt and Wilson took the match. 

 

Rory takes a week off and then returns to the USA for the Honda Classic.
