Rory played in the Honda Classic at the PGA National Champion course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he finished in a tie for 40th place.
Rory shot rounds of 71, 69, 75 and 69 which left him on a four over par total for the tournament which was won by Columbia's Camilo Villegas on thirteen under par, five shots ahead of nearest rival Anthony Kim.
In round three Rory fell foul of the famous Bear Trap (holes 15, 16 and 17) where he made a triple bogey six on the par three fifteenth and a bogey four on the par three seventeenth, however, he redeemed himself nicely with a one under par 69 on the final day.
Rory now makes the short trip to Doral where he plays in the WGC - CA Championship which begins on Thursday.
