Hey Rory, tough luck this week at acccenture... But you'll bounce back and start winning soon I'm sure! I would like to know who you looked up to as a young golfer and what your dream foursome would be. Thanks, Ryan

Ryan Sander

Hi Ryan, I most definitely looked up to Tiger in my formative years. I guess my dream foursome would be myself, Nelson Mandela, my dad and my best mate, Harry Diamond! All the best, Rory.

Rory, I was both surprised and excited to see how many events you're planning on playing this year here in the States on the PGA Tour (especially since I drafted you in my fantasy golf league). It appears you're playing enough to warrant Fedex Cup eligibility, so I'm guessing that's a big factor, but my question is 'what goals have you set for yourself for 2010 both for the PGA Tour, European Tour and in general?". Thanks and good luck reaching those goals, whatever they may be!

Jeremy Sousa

Hi Jeremy, my goals really for the year are to get into the top 5 of the World Rankings and to win more tournaments. I'm really looking forward to playing on the PGA Tour this year and can't wait for the Accenture to start this week. All the best, Rory.

Hey Rory, Good luck in your defence of your title this week, there really is a strong field this week but I am sure you will have a good chance of keeping the title. Me and my dad go on regular golf trips every year around the UK and I know your the touring pro of Lough Erne. Do you think the course is suitable to mid-high handicappers as well as pros like yourself? Good luck this week. Best Regards Will

Will Ford

Hi there Will, it wasn't to be for me in Dubai this week and a last round of 73 wasn't what I had in mind. It was a strong field and I think Miguel did great to win. Lough Erne is suitable for players of all standards of golf and I know if you went there you'd just love it - it's testing but fun at the same time - and the scenery is awesome - so I think you should definitely put it on your list! Have a great time. Rory.

Hi Rory. I've been following you since your amateur days. I also followed Tiger as an amateur and placed a £10 bet on him doing a grand slam in his first 10 yrs as a pro. Wow he was close! How about a McIlroy Grand Slam? I believe you have the ability. Maybe a few years away but, for now, which of the Majors is your favourite and which one sets up best for you? Good luck for 2010.

Mark Richards

Hi Mark, a McIlroy Grand Slam would certainly be pretty cool! This year I'm really looking forward to the Open Championship at St Andrews - it's one of my all time favourite courses and have performed well round there since I turned pro. All the best, Rory.

Howdy From Texas Rory! I'm a huge fan of all of the Irish men playing on the tour, being of Irish decent myself. I live in West Texas which is the most desolate part of Texas. There are no trees and the wind always blows. The majority of our courses are links style courses. Because you have a lot of experience in playing on the more extreme links what advice can you give on your approach shots to the green during these types of conditions and still maintain accuracy?

Paul Talley

Hi there Paul, it certainly sounds pretty way out where you live! When playing links courses that are windy a good shot to have in your bag is the low punch shot that can be created with a shortened backswing and shortened follow through and placing the ball slightly further back in your stance to take the loft off the club and this should give you a lower more penetrating shot. Happy New Year, Cheers, Rory.
