Hi Rory, keep the flag flying for us and go win that claret jug. Hope to see you playing in holywood sometime. We are all proud of you.
Just a quick comment. I left this comment on NBC blog about how several players on day 2 of the open did not grant interviews upon leaving the trailor to ESPN after a very frustrting day in the wind. Some were polite about it including Sir Nick and some were completely unapprachable including JD who busteda clay pot as he walked out. But I have to give you Kudos and say that you are mature beyond your years to grant an interview after shooting 17 strokes more than your opening day and leading score of 63. Not only did you do the interview, you were pleasant, positive and for lack of better words....didn't act like a pouting little kid! This 50 year old guy admires and respects you...you've got a new fan!
Hi Rory, wasn't it great to see the Gmac win the US open must have been great for him and for Irish golf in general?? Is it true your worst round at the old course is a "69"?? Keep up the good work and lift that claret jug!! all the best for this week!
Hi Stephen, it certainly was just awesome that Gmac won the US Open - great for Ireland, great for Europe and pretty inspirational all round! Yes it's true that my highest score around St Andrews to day is 69 - the best being 63!!! It's a good start for me this week and definitely puts me in the picture. Cheers, Rory.
15/07/10 great shot into the 17 th green today and great score
hey, I recently viewed your CNN interview from 2009 I believe. I must say I am very impressed with your modestly and humbleness. I have met and seen many others with much less skill, and much greater egos. Your passion and perspective on life is a rare one to find, and I can only hope others with follow in your path.
